Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah (born 22 December 1969) was a former Nigerian Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, An oil magnate, entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist. He is the President of Master Energy Group, a conglomerate with over 15 subsidiaries and interests across a variety of industries, amongst is Masters Energy Oil and Gas Ltd.
He had his secondary education at Ishiagu High School and obtained a ‘Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting’ from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu, in 2015.
Subsequently, he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), Bachelor of Science degree (Banking and Finance) from Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago-Iwoye and a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from University of Lagos.
In December 2011, he established a foundation, known as, Uche Ogah Foundation through which he has promoted empowerment, poverty alleviation, and provided educational opportunities for the less privileged.
He, under his foundation, has electrified villages in his Community, built prototypal houses for the entire community and also constructed a 5,000 capacity auditorium in Abia state University (ABSU) Uturu.
He provides employment opportunities through his company and it’s subsidiaries and has provided employment opportunities to over 6,000 people. This man single handily transformed his community, built houses for people and gave employment to youths.
Ogah has several philanthropic projects and deeds under his belt. He is said to have electrified villages in Uturu Community, built prototypal houses for the entire community and also constructed a 5,000 capacity auditorium in Abia state University (ABSU) Uturu.
Ogah also provided free medical services to the citizens of the community, constructed a fully equipped modern hospital and rehabilitated a primary school with ICT centre and modern facilities.
The politician is also in partnership with Hopeville Rehabilitation centre, Uturu for fabrication of Prosthesis (Artificial Limbs) and Orthotic (Calipers) for disabled people. Ogah launched the Uche Ogah Foundation in December 2011 “to provide empowerment, poverty alleviation, and providing education for the less privileged.”
In 2017, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, inspect his Master’s Energy city project in his hometown Uturu Abia State. During the inspection, he said that he embarked on such capital intensive Projects in his hometown Uturu to reduce the raising rate of unemployment in Igbo land.
He expressed optimism that his new I n dustrial city will reduce unemployment especially in the South East region. The New Masters Energy Industrial City has created huge employment for his people.
It houses more than 10 Factories which include; Lubricants, Grease, Bottle Water, Juice, Noodles, Rubber and an Assembly Plant. Others are Fertilizer, Vegetables, Rice, Assorted Wines and Tyre Plants..
Ogah holds the Nigerian national honour, the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) and the Commander of the Order of Niger (CON).

- Ambassador of Peace, UN-POLAC Effective Leadership Award by Global Youths Awareness & Development Initiative (GYADI)
- Award for Excellence Foundation Entrepreneurship Promoter of the Year by Entrepreneurship Promotions Academy Africa
- Episcopal Award for Faith Motivation by Bishop of Isikwuato / Umunneochi, Anglican Corporate Excellence.
The Minister was also recognised for his accomplishments in Private Sector Development by Institute of Management & Technology, Enugu, (Aba Chapter); and as Diamond Father of the Year, 2012 by Catholic Men’s Organisation, Mater Dei Cathedral Parish, Umuahia.
He is married with children.
